Kendama, the revolution or just the typical fashion?

The Kendama is a children's toy consisting of an original Japanese object appearance hammer it together with a rope a ball. The ball has a hole in it, and is initially stuck in the top of the Kendama. Both sides of the "hammer" are concave and the objective of the game is to throw the ball up and make a landing on the concave part of the "hammer". There are many ways to play this game: let the ball hanging from the rope and throw it upwards to try to "punch it" the hammer, make the ball go through a concave side of another Kendama etc..

In my school, now it's the fashion there are a lot of people that have one. The promoter of this fashion was a friend of mine that started to impulse it. Now there are a lot with a great variety of colors.
